Despite Richie Rich's best efforts, no one does spectacle on the runway quite like The Blonds. For their Fall 2011 collection, the peroxide-loving design duo looked to the Far East, showcasing a terrifically over-the-top collection full of crystals, sequins and all things cartoonishly glamorous.
Phillipe Blond has made it a tradition to make a grand entrance. This year, he took to the runway clad in a gigantic, glittering dragon head, replete with a glistening pink tongue. And it just got better from there.
There was a corset encrusted with jiggling googly eyes, several kimono dresses cinched with bejeweled corset belts and an inventive corset covered in sparkling fortune cookies. All of the magically flirtatious pieces were showcased beneath sparkling bob wigs in various eye-catching hues.
The Blonds have so much fun with what they do, and that clearly translates in their whimsical, wonderful costumery. Viva The Blonds!
