The Oscars left us up to our necks in evening dresses (no complaints, just saying...) but let's take a break from Grecian gowns and mermaid trains to appreciate Zoe Saldana's mini she wore to the Independent Spirit Awards.

We love how she wears this embroidered design from Balmain, a label that never shies away from heavy embellishment. And style points have duly been awarded for wisely ditching the black boots and chunky accessories from the original runway look.

While Kate Beckinsale's Diane Von Furstenberg jumpsuit made fierce style competition for the occasion, it's not easy to top Zoe's never-ending legs.
