Why it Works: Kim Kardashian - OOTD

(Photos by PacificCoastNews.com)

A Jessica Rabbit for Generation Twitter, reality TV queen Kim Kardashian usually rocks a look somewhere between Marilyn Monroe and J.Lo on the fashion continuum—old Hollywood with a pronounced deference to her marketable assets. We're fans of this ensemble because it's on-brand but also a little risky in a fashion-forward kind of way.

The Skirt: Like a '50s poodle number had a mishap in the Honey I Shrunk The Skirt Machine. It's flirty, flouncy and says: I'm in love with a fashion-addicted rapper-cum-bon vivant and I don't care who knows it!

The Blazer: A strategic separate, meant to play up the drama of the skirt and preserve Kardashian's modesty should she find herself standing over say, a subway vent, or trying to do something crazy like sit down.

The Belt: A stunningly embellished statement piece, Kardashian's fanned belt veers dangerously toward being mistaken for a western vest when glimpsed beneath her blazer, but having positively identified it as an accessory, we're happy to give it a thumbs up.

The Purse: Tiny and recognizably expensive, just like its owner.
