Look of the Day: Blake Lively in Marchesa

For someone who doesn't have a stylist, Blake Lively does a great job of dressing herself for red carpet events. At the CinemaCon awards, she picked up the award for Breakthrough Performer of the Year in a gloriously girly red dress by Marchesa.

The incredibly-detailed frock had intricate swirl patterns on a sheer bodice and a voluminous tulle mini skirt. Blake was more than happy to show off the dress' bare back, which was highlighted by her messy bun. Maroon Brian Atwood Helena shoes topped off the look.

While we would have preferred a more polished updo, Blake still looks gorgeous in her cheery mini. This outfit isn't for everyone, but it matches her bubbly personality.

What Are Rihanna's Shorts Made Of?

Rihanna's odd booty shorts on the recent cover of Rolling Stone brought up a lot of questions: Were they jeans? Were they chain mail? Was it Photoshop? Well, ponder no more—the mystery behind the shorts has finally been solved.

Fashionista reports: "The magic booty 'shorts' are actually 'metal mesh shorts' according to the credits (Rihanna tweeted that they were 'chain mail'), custom made by Michael Schmidt Studios for the shoot's stylist, B. Akerlund."

B. Akerlund has a celebrity clientele that includes Lady Gaga and Madonna. But what was she thinking for this look? Apparently, the inspiration was "if Rihanna and Kid Rock had a baby."

There you have it. Case closed.
