Trend Alert: Bare Midriff Couture

It's time to hit the gym because there's a hot new trend sweeping the red carpets and it's not for the faint of heart.

Starlets like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Selena Gomez have all recently been spotted rocking midriff-baring styles at premieres and awards shows. The trend has also been all over the runways, with designers like Alexander Wang, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prada all including belly-baring ensembles in their recent collections.

Instead of exposing the entire stomach with low-cut jeans, this new midriff-baring style favors high-waisted skirts and cropped tops that show off a strip of skin just above the navel, which creates a sexy yet still demure effect. Actresses like Kate Bosworth have also tried out a more conservative version of the trend that exposes only the slightest sliver of skin.

So what do you think? Is this belly-baring style something that should be reserved only for toned and tanned young starlets, or is this a look you'd love to take out for a spin?

Featured Designer :: PrinzeNaki Eyewear

I had the opportunity to chit-chat with a budding eyewear designer out of LA, and as soon as I heard her plans for her line, we immediately clicked. In the world of "futuristic swagg" and clothing designers making everything a bit more sleek and clean and well, "futuristic" the PrinzeNaki eyewear line stands out. As my readers know, I LOVE a good statement piece whether it be a piece of jewelry or another accesory a statement piece is NEEDED! With these hot designs, the Prinze Naki Eyewea Co. will be sure to leave a statement of their own, and the person who dawns them.

What’s the name of the clothing line??
Well it not really a clothing line is more of and Accessories line but the name is "PrinzeNaki" and prinzeNaki is basically the story of who I was then and who I transition to now.

Who are the main people in this “Group” or are you Solo??
Yes as of right now Im solo no team but very soon I would love to have a good one things can get alittle out of hand at time but I'm definitely learning alot as I go.

What was your inspiration to start a handbag line??
What Inspired me to start my Eyewear line was just testing my creative side in 2010 in my room bored playing with 3D glasses, and was putting random objects around them , it lead to one thing and creations lead to another I started to like my outcome and wanted to do more and I then wanted to start a BOLD trend for everyone who wanted to not only be different be feel different.

That must have been an interesting feeling??
Yes each day I have interesting feeling about me designs, what I wanna do, and what's next for the BOLD collection.

What kind of pieces center around the line?? 
My Pieces are very Goddy, BOLD, Strong, the newer pieces are inspired by a Gladiator/Warrior theme

Who do you collaborate with to come up with design ideas??
No one, everything is from my own creative juices some people will at times give me there input or ideas, but for the most part everything is from me.

Is there a target audience??
Yes and no I make them for everyone BUT you have to be Brave and BOLD to rock my eyewear, when wearing my pieces I want you to feel like no one can stop you almost like a superhero.

Where do you see this line within the next 3 years??
Definitely a well known product, in stores, and manufactured,

Celebrities Try On the Pajama Trend: Rihanna, Salma Hayek, and Rachel Roy

Only Rihanna can wear PJ’s to a movie premiere and make it look good. Ri attended the premiere for her upcoming film ‘Battleship’ in Japan and she lit up the blue carpet in a pajama-inspired pant suit from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2012 Collection. She accented her look with gold accessories and flawless make up.

She’s not the only one hitting the streets in sleepwear. Both Rachel Roy and actress Salma Hayek stepped out on the scene in pajama-inspired pant suits earlier this year.

Who Wore Floral Givenchy Better: Fergie or La La Vasquez?

We love a fabulous statement dress and so do Fergie and La La Vasquez, it seems. Both starlets stepped out this week in an eye-catching floral print dress from the Givenchy 2012 Resort Collection. But whose festive spring look made a stronger statement?

Both ladies wisely decided to keep accessories to a minimum and let the bold print of the Givenchy dress do most of the talking. Fergie paired the frock with black pointed-toe pumps and a classic black clutch. The Black Eyed Peas diva left her blond locks loose and wavy and kept her make-up simple to create a sexy, fresh-from-the-beach vibe.

Vasquez, meanwhile, chose Christian Louboutin Summerissima crisscross suede and leather platform sandals and pulled her hair up into a sleek bun (the better to show off a pair of sparkling diamond earrings).

So what do you think? Who wore the floral Givenchy frock better? We think the edge might go to Fergie, but we're dying for a pair of La La's sexy sandals.

2 Chainz & Amber Rose In Jeremy Scott Gorilla Adidas

Mr. West was in the building last night on a special edition of BET’s 106 and Park as a surprise guest with 2 Chainz. And they were literally ‘going Gorillas’ as 2 Chainz hit the stage in a pair of Jeremy Scott Gorilla Adidas from the Spring 2012 line of sneakers. The shoes feature Gorilla heads on the tongue and comes with an Adidas tee as a clothing option for the Gorilla to wear.

Coincidentally, Kanye West’s former boo Amber Rose was spotted in a pair last week while leaving the Virgin America terminal after taking the airline’s first flight ever to Philly.

Sidenote: Kanye chose to stay silent throughout his appearance on stage last night. He is no longer doing interviews because the press likes to twist his words, however he used the appearance as an opportunity to show off his highly anticipated Air Yeezy 2 ‘Blink’ Sneakers which hits stores in June. Marc Jacobs Partnering with Sephora on Makeup Line

First the clothes, then the fragrances, and now the makeup. The word is Marc Jacobs will soon be putting his name on a color cosmetics collection that will find the designer breaking new ground for his illustrious brand.

WWD reported Tuesday that Jacobs will be hooking up with cosmetics retailer Sephora for the new line. "I see makeup, fragrance—everything, really—as an opportunity," he said. "The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner—it's just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making those choices is something people really enjoy."

Jacobs won't be the first designer to launch a cosmetics collection. Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabanna and Giorgio Armani all currently have makeup lines while many other designers have partnered with companies like MAC or OPI and Zoya to create special collections.

Since Jacobs' collaboration with Sephora has only just begun there's no word yet on when we can expect to see the products in stores. Right now we can only speculate on what's to come, but based on Jacobs' thoughts on fashion, we can't wait to see what he comes up with: "It's not necessary, it's something you want—it's a fancy and a whim."

Miss Keri Baby may have been quiet over the last few months, however, she was hard at work last Thursday as she made a few appearances around New York City. She was spotted leaving MTV Studios where she had a speaking engagement as an ambassador for MTV’s “Staying Alive” foundation and she was later spotted heading over to Fuse TV to host ‘Fuse Top 100 Killer Collabos’.

On the streets, she kept it casual and comfortable in a pair of floral pants, coupled with Cole Haan Lunargrand wing tip shoes and a Dolce & Gabbana straw bag from the Spring 2012 Collection.

Here we have a awesome colloboration between Extra Butter, a New York City based sneaker boutique, and Reebok. The Reebok classic Pump shoe gained it's inspiration from Dave Chapelle's character "Ahchoo" from Robin Hood Men in Tights. Durabuck and premium tumbled leather are decked out in Hunter Green, black and dark brown on the shoe's upper. The tongue is finished off with the classic Reebok Orange basketball to "pump you up" for that additional comfort. Look of the Day: Taylor Swift's Futuristic Cutout Dress

If you were expecting to see Taylor Swift once again swathed in tulle or decadent sequins at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, you must have been delightfully surprised. She gave us something entirely new on the red carpet in this sleek cutout number.

The futuristic design of gold ribbons and sharp lines was out of the norm for the country star, but the piece was still pulled from her favorite designer, J. Mendel. The dress came from his Fall 2012 collection, which melds Space Age minimalism with Art Deco glitz (quite a different vibe from that dove gray gown of his she wore to the CMAs).

Taylor also strayed from her signature style in the realm of hair and makeup. No retro red lips and no fancy updo, just soft barely wavy tresses and ultra-thick lashes. Perfection!
