Nicki Minaj For Teen Vogue

Nicki Minaj covers Teen Vogue's June/July issue, and while her smile says "Everything is great!" that look in her eyes is definitely, "Get me out of this corset."

On why she refuses to fake the funk
People treat this business like it’s high school. It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.

On how her parents dysfunctional relationship affected her
Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends. I dreaded it. I had butterflies in my stomach each time: Are people going to like or hate me? … Sometimes there’d be a fight, sometimes not. I let people know I wasn’t going to be pushed around.

On why she no longer pays attention to the critics
I used to read the bad things people said about me, then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power. I tell teens, if you’re having a problem, there’s nothing wrong with deleting your social media. If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it’s poison.

Andre Leon Talley Left 'Vogue' for 'Numero Russia' !!

(Getty Images) Andre Leon Talley leaves Vogue for Numero Russia
Andre Leon Talley, a pillar of the American fashion media and a longtime mainstay at Vogue, left the iconic fashion bible earlier this month—and the underlying assumption was that he'd gone to focus, full-time, on his burgeoning television career as a talk show host. But news broke yesterday that the magazine veteran has, in addition to his development deal with NBC, joined the masthead at Numero Russia as editor-at-large.

"My strategy is to bring my training," he told WWD about his plans for Numero. "I feel that I have definite skills to bring to Numero Russia, something exciting for the Russian market and the Russian fashion reader that creates a human side to the fashion theme, a narrative."

As for how he'll have a direct hand in editorial, Talley proposes that he'll orchestrate "shoots in Russia with historical narrative relevant to the Russian landscape that is only Russian." This means photoshoots in "humble Russian villages" and in "provinces you reach by car or plane, that are not right outside of Moscow or Saint Petersburg." He'll also be shooting in, um, "cemeteries with their run-down graves and people still living there like 100 years ago."

Not sure how all that couture-in-the-countryside is going to go over in a country where the widening rich-poor gap is a serious socio-economic concern. But here's something Talley has planned that we're pretty sure will go down sweet: Naomi Campbell will grace his first Numero cover.

"I chose her because she lives in Russia now," Talley said. "She has a Russian life with her boyfriend Vladimir [Doronin]. They have an extraordinary new house by Zaha Hadid, and I was privileged enough to see it before it was completed. It's extraordinarily modern to be in Russia."

Guess Which 'Vogue' Staffer Is Getting a Talk Show?

It's Andre Leon Talley!

Vogue's contributing editor has just inked a deal with production company Electus to develop a late-night talk show on a yet-to-be-named cable network, WWD reports. This makes total sense — Talley is definitely comfortable on camera. Remeber his America's Next Top Model gig? And his cameos in The September Issue?

The program would serve as a platform for Andre to chat with his famous friends, and he sees it as "a show that blends Dick Cavett’s approach to eloquence and sophistication with unparalleled access into my international fashion lifestyle. A forum where unique stories will be told and inspirations shared."

So, it would basically be his "Mondays with Andre" web series on the small screen. But, hopefully, with more fancy cape twirling.

And Uggs.

Adele Covers Vogue Magazine: ‘I Am Never Writing A Break Up Record Again’

Adele probably never imagined she’d ever be on the cover of Vogue Magazine, however, it’s well deserved after the year she’s had. She sweeped the Grammys, winning every award she was nominated for on Sunday and hit the stage for the first time since undergoing a career threatening throat surgery in November. Vogue Magazine snagged her for the Cover of their March 2012 Issue and she is killing it in a 10 page fashion spread. Inside, she talks about how losing her voice helped silence the noise in her life which gave her clarity and also reveals that she has no desire to expand into other areas such as acting. She also drops a bomb in the interview when she revealed it’ll be at least three years before we can expect another album from her and she won’t be releasing anything until it’s better than her last album, 21.

Check out a few experts and her full photo spread below:

On the Man Who Inspired the album 21 “You know, he was amazing. He was great. But it was never going to work. And for ages I was like, As if he deserves any f-cking kudos for inspiring my record. But now, after some time, it only seems right that the person who so far has had the biggest impact on me—has now changed my life for f-cking ever with this album—deserves a little credit. I can do things that I never dreamed I’d be able to do. If I hadn’t met him, I think I’d still be that little girl I was when I was eighteen. And the best thing is, I now know what I want for myself and from someone else. I didn’t know what I wanted before.”

On how losing her voice helped change her life It was so fast-paced, I could hardly ever even remember the bulk of my day. I think I just needed to be silenced. And when you are silent, everyone else around you is silent. So the noise in my life just stopped. It was like I was floating in the sea for three weeks. It was brilliant. It was my body telling me to fix me. I had so much time to kind of go over things and get over things, which is amazing. I think if I hadn’t had my voice trouble, I would never have broached those subjects with myself. Now I just feel really at peace. And really proud of myself. I’ve never fully appreciated the things that I’ve achieved until now. In fact, my entire life has changed in the last ten weeks. I’ve never been so happy, and I love it.

On not having the desire to become an actress I did my acting debut on Ugly Betty, and I cannot watch it. I play myself, but I was so sort of uncomfortable that I sound like an American putting on an English accent. I am the worst actress of all time. I’m like a f-cking cardboard box! I’m awful. No, I have absolutely no intention of going into acting or making perfumes. I am a singer. I will stick to what I am good at and not spread myself thin and become mediocre at everything I do.

On having a long-lasting singing career I’m in it for the long run. I don’t want to be disposable. You’re only as good as your next record. I’m not scared of losing this. I won’t come out with new music until it’s better than 21. I’m not expecting to sell as many records, but I don’t want to release shit. Also, I have nothing to write about! I’d be lying. And that would go against everything I’ve ended up building for myself. So, yeah, I will need at least three years to write a record.

On if it’ll take a brave man to date her Come on! I’m wifey material! I’m great. No one’s got to be brave. It’s not like, ‘You f**k me over and I’m going to write a record and make you the most hated man in the world.’ I am never writing a breakup record again, by the way. I’m done with being a bitter witch”

Vogue Italia Made a Clever Faux-QVC Video

To accompany their witty, QVC-inspired January cover, Italian Vogue released a video, complete with elevator music in the background and scrolling marquees along the screen's bottom, titled "IVC." The clip shows models like Joan Smalls, Natasha Poly, Caroline Trentini, and Karlie Kloss posing in 2012 spring collections by Chanel, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Versace, and many more, all while bathed in the anesthetizing glow of a tacky light-up runway. Mock copy like "one month money back guarantee" and "free shipping and handling" (hilarious!) play on the screen, and there's cameos with Michelle Harper and Ross Cassidy (from Million Dollar Decorators). See, fashion? You can have a sense of humor about your snobbery. What a clever, fresh way to start the year.

God Save My Shoes: Peek Inside VOGUE’s Shoe Closet!

Shoe trends for Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 are as diverse as ever so that every woman could find something for herself. If we speak about the color scheme, then the trendiest tones for the upcoming fashion season are: black, white, stone, metallic, beige, burgundy, dark blue, chocolate, deep violet, khaki and red. Bright hues are scarce, which is normal as we prefer wearing darker colors during autumn and winter.

Materials that prevail in Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 shoe collections include: ordinary leather, patent and reptile skins, suede and satin. There is also a lot lace and occasional fur this season.

One more thing is worth mentioning before we start enumerating shoe trends for Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 – this fashion season both pike and round toes are popular. This means you can stick to your favorite shape of shoe and still be very fashionable.

Adele Talks Industry’s Weight Obsession In British Vogue

If you don’t know who Adele is by now, you’ve probably been living under the biggest rock ever for the past year. The British singer has managed to capture the hearts of many with her soulful and elegant voice and her album ’21′ has single-handedly dominated the charts for most of the year. She’s covering the October 2011 issue of Vogue UK magazine where she speaks about the music industry’s weight obsession, her unusual ritual before she hits the stage and why she prefers being single.

On getting pre-show jitters:
“I puke quite a lot before going on stage. Though never actually on stage. But then, I sh*t myself before everything … the bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show!”

On the entertainment industry’s weight obsession:
“I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don’t want that in my life. I have insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me.”

On being single:
“I do get massively distracted when I’ve got someone in my life, which I can’t afford to do right now. Besides, no one treats me as well as I do.”

On wanting sons, rather than daughters:
“I’ve always got on better with boys. Most of my friends are boys. Like, if I ever have children, I want five boys. Boys love their mothers whereas girls can be so mean to each other.”

Rihanna's VOGUE Cover + Gisele Bundchen Covers VOGUE Paris

"Rihanna: On Fame, Family, and How She Really Feels about her Curves" is the headline on Rihanna's April 2011 Vogue cover. The much-discussed issue has been revealed in a covert stealth shot featured on Fashion Bomb Daily.

On the cover, Rihanna still sports her red locks, but in a Jessica Rabbit-esque 'do. She wears a sheer sequin-embellished gown from Chanel's pre-fall collection. It's the second unique and edgier cover for Vogue in a row, following Lady Gaga's pink-wigged March cover. We were hoping Riri would ditch the red locks for it, but sadly, it seems not even Anna Wintour can persuade Rihanna to part with her flaming hair.

What do you think of the cover?

Speculation about Emmanuelle Alt's first Vogue Paris cover can now stop—the cover art has finally been released. Instead of continuing on with Carine's dark and edgy style, Emmanuelle has taken a step in the other direction.

For the April edition of the magazine, she styled Gisele Bundchen in a light and airy sheer lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana. It's a softer, more commercial look—aka one that advertisers will likely prefer. It'll be interesting to see what she does in coming months. August is supposedly the pivotal issue where her full vision for the magazine will be revealed.

What do you think about Vogue Paris' new direction?
