With the slim catwalk contrasting against loose cuts, BCBGMAXAZRIA's fall 2011 collection offered up the New York fashion week catwalk something that was both delicate and relaxed.
A collection in which light fabrics bordering on the semi-sheer are set against largely subdued colours. But also a collection in which both play second fiddle to bold reds, blues and winter prints.
Courtesy of their construction, weight and cut, each of the pieces offers up something in the way of movement, but it's surprising just how little, for the most part, of that movement you notice in person. That's not a slight, but as even the sheer maxi dresses seem subdued in the face of bold colours, so too do the flowing dresses and tops seem more rigid in the face of the collection's geometric infusion.
