Best Dressed at OSCARS 2011

1.

Halle Berry knew she had a red carpet hit in this glittering tulle masterpiece by Marchesa! The one-time Best Actress winner went soft for the evening, matching her gown with ultra-feminine diamond earrings.

2.

HIlary Swank had her goddess moment in a sequined and feathered strapless Gucci Premiere gown accented with ostrich feathers. It's too bad she's not nominated this year—this dress deserves more time to shine.

Peep the last 3 after the JUMP!! They include Jennifer Hudson, Sandra Bullock, & a SURPRISE!!

3.

Bye bye bolero! Jennifer Hudson has come a long way since the year she took home an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, fashion wise. She went for full va-va-voom in a bright red Versace gown that raised plenty of eyebrows with its halter neckline.

4.

Sandra Bullock pulled back her blunt bangs into a stately updo, giving her strapless red Vera Wang gown an elegant complement. A pair of diamond bracelets, diamond studs and regal red lips made this a classic Oscars look.

5.

Handbag designer Camila Alves was typically ravishing in a Kaufman Franco gown with a deep plunging neckline. Diamond-and-pearl earrings and a center-parted bun created the perfect pared-back look.

Honorable Mentions for OSCARS Red Carpet

Who looked her best while thanking the Academy? And who was the big winner on the red carpet? We've got the scoop on the best looks of the 2011 Academy Awards—see who won big with fashion fans!

It's too bad Mila Kunis looked so bored on the red carpet, because her soft lavender Elie Saab gown was actually quite pretty. The plunging neckline must have turned plenty of heads, as did the semi-sheer skirt. Delicate diamond earrings, a diamond bangle and a soft updo completed her look.

Michelle Williams' understated Chanel gown was just what we'd expected from the Blue Valentine star, who tends to favor feminine frocks with a delicate touch. Impeccable makeup and eye-catching diamond earrings added the Hollywood touch to Michelle's look.

There was a new redhead in L'Wren at the Oscars—The Fighter's Amy Adams, whose midnight blue sequined gown looked radiant against her creamy complexion. Bright green jewels, including a necklace worn atop the dress, added an extra dimension to a winning look.

There was nothing wrong with Anne Hathaway's vintage Valentino gown, but it was perhaps a bit conservative for the evening's hostess...even when paired with a deep red lip and a sparkling diamond necklace. Was she saving her best look for the telecast?

If there's any woman who can truly command a couture gown, it's Cate Blanchett. The Academy Award winner was stunning and extravagant in a structured Givenchy Couture creation pebbled with textured beads. Anyone else might have looked like they were trying too hard, but not Cate.

Sharon Stone ditched her regular fur ensemble in favor of a slinky feathered piece. Black Swan, anyone? Yes, please—especially with that sky-high updo.

Celine Dion's Armani Privé gown was made for her, and it shows. The structured gown's understated elegance was perfectly matched with a deep green jeweled necklace.

Natalie Portman had the year's most buzzworthy performance in Black Swan, and had fashion followers on the edge of their seats over her choice of Oscars attire. This violet off-the-shoulder Rodarte gown was a lovely choice, even if it was not nearly as dramatic as most of her fans would have liked.

Gwyneth Paltrow added a bit of sass to her minimalist sequined Calvin Klein Collection gown with Louis Vuitton earrings and a belt brooch. This is red carpet styling at its best.

Hot or Not: Nicole Richie's Very Catty Shades

It's no secret that television personality and burgeoning fashion designer Nicole Richie loves her some oversized shades. Richie has explained that they're her quick and easy fix for those days when her makeup artist isn't onhand, since, well, she's not all that good at doing makeup.

Richie has amassed quite the collection of designer vintage shades, but these days she's rocking a look from her own collection. On Thursday, she was photographed at Hollywood hotspot Matsuhisa in a studded black leather jacket and her House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses in black.

The oversized cateye glasses are kind of extreme, but they seem to work on Nicole—or don't they?

ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood | What They Wore!!

On Thursday, ESSENCE Magazine drew many of the entertainment industry's most beloved women to the Beverly Hills Hotel for the 4th annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. Which ladies lunched most fashionably?

Jennifer Hudson flaunted her fabulously toned figure in a skintight magenta dress by Roland Mouret. The Weight Watchers spokeswoman paired her bodycon frock with suede pumps, long locks and fabulous jewels.

Gabrielle Union sent off vintage vibes in this A-line off-the-shoulder dress, which she paired with a diamond bracelet, peep-toe pumps and a 1950s hairstyle. Are you liking her retro throwback?

Peep more celebs like Brandy, Kimora Lee, and Serena Williams after the JUMP!!

You'd think Nicole Ari Parker could do no wrong—nothing better than a beautiful woman in a beautiful dress, right? We'd agree, were it not for those unfortunate stains beneath the actress' arms...

Television personality Shaun Robinson could not have chosen a more appropriate dress! She complemented her soft orange frock (just edgy enough with its partially open back and exposed side-zipper) with a sassy high bun, nude pumps and a white clutch.

Brandy's hot little black dress featured metallic accents on the cap sleeves. She played off the frock's rocker vibe in leather cut-out sandals that helped to show off her ankle tattoo.

Kimora Lee Simmons looks her most fabulous when she turns down the glitz factor a notch. Case in point: Kimora looked so soft, so pretty in a pale pink one-shoulder dress and metallic peep-toes.

Serena Williams decided to get in on the little white dress trend, rocking her LWD with ponyhair flats, a gold clutch, blunt bangs and plenty of body glitter. We're also loving her hot pink lipcolor!

Comedienne Niecy Nash was not afraid to make a bold statement! She hit the luncheon in a hot pink dress, matched with some equally brilliant shoes and a snakeskin clutch.

Kerry Washington was oh-so-elegant in a belted Vivenne Westwood cocktail dress and soft pink Christian Louboutin pumps. A pair of sparkling earrings and picture-perfect curls were all Kerry needed to carry this feminine ensemble.

The radiant Angela Bassett, one of our 50 Most Beautiful Women over 50, accepted her ESSENCE award in a silky gray cocktail dress and classic peep-toe pumps. An asymmetrical curly 'do and super-smoky eyes completed her look.

Rachel Zoe Masters the Art of Baby Bump Concealment

When Rachel Zoe stepped foot into the Tom Ford boutique for its opening in Beverly Hills, it didn't seem as if she was that pregnant, much less 9-months in. But it appears Rachel is as adept at dressing herself as she is at clothing other people. The stylist to the stars wore a gold-and-black sequin mini dress that concealed her bump and, from a front view, gave the illusion she was barely expecting. It was only when she turned at an angle that you could make out her pregnant silhouette.

Lest anyone is confused about Rachel's due date, well it could happen at any moment! Rachel was overheard cooing about Tom's designs, but despairing about not being able to wear any of it. She said:

I mean, everything he does is just flawless. Too bad I can’t wear any of it. My water could totally break right here.

Forget Oscar winner bets, someone should set up a pool to see if Rachel will give birth before, after or during the Oscars!

"Yeezy Taught Me" What Kanye Wore x Balmain

Kanye West lit up the NBA All-Star game halftime show with a surprise performance of his single “All Of The Lights” dressed in Balmain from head-to-toe. He was wearing a red Balmain sleeveless zip up hoodie, layered over a red Balmain distressed B-tiger logo t-shirt (seen below in black), Balmain leather belt, red Balmain stretch biker jeans (seen below in silver), and a pair of Air Jordan retro 6 infrared sneakers. Ye’ is definitely on his Balmain steeze right now, do you like his look?

- UpscaleHype

After his halftime performance Kanye West was seen courtside wearing a Balmain Teddy leather jacket (approx. $4,978) from the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection and an Actual Pain Pyramid Logo snap back cap ($29). This varsity-style jacket features silver sleeves with zipper detailing, snap button closure, and slit pockets with a badge logo embroidered on the chest.

Also it appears that Kanye is wearing a Balmain Zebra print t-shirt from the Fall 2009 Collection underneath the jacket. What do you think of his look?

WERK!! Yeezy!!

What Is That?? Jessica White's Train Cape

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model Jessica White has the body and the attitude to pull off just about anything. Just about.

The model was among a bevy of beautiful women who made it to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit party at Las Vegas' PURE nightclub on Thursday, posing up a storm in a black and white minidress complete with a semi-sheer train cape. White played up the red carpet accessory, swishing it about for the cameras.

Do you think the cape was the perfect dramatic complement to Jessica's new thick, blunt bangs? Or would she have done better to play it safe?

Naeem Khan Gives Fall 2011 a Smoldering Makeover

Naeem Khan proves that when it comes to eyeshadow, a hint of color just won't do it. The designer gave the sultry smoky eye back its luster with his glamorous Fall 2011 collection.

Elaborately beaded gowns were paired with saturated lids that were dusted in deep purples, blacks and slate grays. Exaggerated brows helped frame the eyes, which were rimmed in smoky hues and topped with thickening mascara.

While full applications of color were brushed across lids, nude lips and barely there coverage was the key to this hue-happy look. Smoldering eyes and slick coiled buns pinned at the nape of the neck were the perfect pairing for the red carpet-worthy collection.

Amber Rose & M.I.A. Show Off Their Style!!

Amber Rose was among the attendees of the Ashish show held at Somerset House during London Fashion Week. She dawned her futuristic look, with skin-tight mesh clothing, and accented high grey wedge booties.

M.I.A. was also in attendance, and as usual she styled herself! It's not that I can't get with certain aspects of this outfit, its just that she's a bit MUCH in it..

Coco Chanel said it best, "Before you leave the house, take one thing off"..
