Try This Trend: Colorful Footwear

Neon is all the rage these days, but if fluorescent pink pants and highlighter yellow blouses aren't exactly your style, there's a much easier way to dip your toe into the vibrant new trend: shoes!

Hollywood's hottest starlets have been energizing their wardrobe with vivid shoes in a variety of different styles. Some celebs like Kim Kardashian and Glee's Jayma Mays have been spicing up monochrome cocktail dresses with bold footwear choices, while others have matched their brightly-hued heels with ensembles that are equally eye-catching. So get into the neon spirit by checking out how celebs have been brightening up their shoe collections.

Taraji P. Henson punched up her pastel ensemble with a bright pair of fuchsia heeled sandals at a screening of Think Like a Man. Taraji's floral print jeans are also perfectly on trend with the wave of flower power that has been sweeping through Hollywood.

(Getty)
Kim Kardashian hasn't been shy about jumping on the neon trend (check out this bright orange jacket she wore a few weeks ago), and we love the way she paired this silver strapless number with a pair of bold, look-at-me pink pumps. As if we need another excuse to look at her...

(Getty)
Actress and model Amber Rose isn't known for subtlety, so it's not exactly shocking that she chose to pair her neon yellow pumps with a turquoise dress and bright pink lipstick. No shy wallflowers here.

(FameFlynet)
Gossip Girl has always been a gem of small screen fashion, so it's no surprise that Michelle Trachtenberg looked absolutely fabulous in a pair of purple suede platform pumps while on the set of the CW drama. Her studded purse is also to die for.

The Only Eight Tees You Need

I was over on GQ today... And I just had to share with my guys what some of the staples are of the types of t-shirts, all mean should own!! A Big, Bold Graphic

T-shirts call for simple graphics, not intricate ones. This is your chance to get all Rothko. Note the shorter sleeves and how the tee hits just barely below the waist. That's how a good tee fits.

Saturdays NYC - $40

Old-School Stripes

Most striped tees have a distinct East Coast nautical vibe—you know, the sailor thing—but this burnt orange is pure Cali.

Levi's Vintage Clothing $95

The '70s Ringer Tee

A perfectly simple design that will never die. Big color and just the right amount of Dazed and Confused.

American Apparel $16

The Suit-Jacket Tee

A sport coat or suit works best with a designer tee, like this fashionably slouchy one.

T by Alexander Wang $102

The Perfect V-Neck

A good V hits well below your Adam's apple and well above that strapping chest of yours.

Alternative $80

The Vintage Rock 'n' Roller

A replica of a promo shirt for Jamaican DJ Mikey Dread's radio show; once worn by Joe Strummer.

Worn Free $45

The Pocket Tee

Not just any purple: The dye is rich and inky, and the tee will break in uniquely, like good denim.

Ralph Lauren Black Label Denim $78

The Surfer Tee

Even if you're a landlocked midwesterner, it's your birthright as an American to channel vibey West Coast surfer energy via a T-shirt.

Lightning Bolt $35

New Shoe Alert :: Simone Rocha Brogues With Glass Heel

I was over on NecoleBitchie.com, like I usually am to keep up with my celebrity "friends" (in my head), and I saw these shoes!! I have never seen them before, ANYWHERE... but I do believe I have fallen for them.

Apparently, last year, 25 year old UK designer Simone Rocha debuted her first line of shoes during London’s Fashion Week and she put a different spin on leather and pony skin oxford-styled shoes by designing them with an elevated glass wedge heel. It actually looks as though the shoes are propped on a display stand.

In the beginning seeing the normal brogue heel attached onto the glass part was horrendous to me, but now I can't stop staring in a blissful awe.

Daring to be different, singer Rita Ora, was spotted outside of BBC Radio One in London wearing the heels which is how I initially came across the shoes to begin with. I just had to know why she was walking around on her tip-toes all day.

Kim Kardashian & Kate Spade Both Launch Nail Polish Lines

Kim Kardashian (Getty)
Ready to start spelling cuticle with a "k"? If you answered yes, then Kim Kardashian's got the "kompletely" fab thing just for you. The reality star broke the news Thursday that she's got a new line of laquers on the way from Nicole by OPI.

She wrote on her blog: "I am excited to reveal my brand new nail polish collection for our Kardashian Kolors...Wel-Kim to My World!! There are six new colors, which are really feminine and flirty!"

The new shades, all based on Kim's usual go-to colors, are a spectrum of soft hues. "I wanted to give you guys a similar selection that represents my signature look," she professed.

The color names are appropriately Kim-centric, so prepare yourself for some gratuitous punning. A honey nude shade is called "Kim Konfidential," while an opalescent sparkle is dubbed "Here Kim's The Sun." Then there's the cotton candy "Up & Kim-ing Pink," "Nothing Kim-pared To Blue," a shimmering pearl called "Lights, Kim-era, Action!" and a sheer white option called "Others Pale By Kim-Parison."

Before Kim's foray into spring nail shades, Nicole by OPI created a holiday collection for the entire Kardashian clan. Momager Kris Jenner, along with sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie, each had their own lacquers. The wintry-looking line featured deep shades and glittery textural options. Kardashian Kolor, including Kim's newest hues, can be found at CVS.

Kate Spade, purveyor of colorful chic, just added nail polish to her list of playful offerings. The set of four travel-sized lacquers comes in shades inspired by Australian artist Florence Broadhurst's brightly-patterned wallpapers.

Beauty expert Poppy King chose the colors for the set, naming each after one of Broadhurst's iconic designs. Included are "Yellow Cockatoos," "Orange Solar," "Watermelon Fingers" and "Seafoam Swirls."

In addition to nail polish, Kate Spade's selection of beauty products includes her fragrance Twirl and four shades of Supercalifragilipstick!. The new lacquers, like the fragrance and lipsticks, are available in Kate Spade stores and online.

Fashion Forecast: Matchy-Matchy Prints

Olivia Palermo, Miu Miu, DVF, DKNY (Getty, Imax Tree)

Once upon a time (and in fashion that means approximately three weeks ago), mixing and matching was the new hip thing to do. Bloggers have given many lessons on how dressing to impress means making the most unexpected outfit combinations possible. Can you wear overalls with pink pumps? Certainly! Can leopard print be paired with neon? Duh. But lookout cool kids, there's a cooler kind of cool in town.

Welcome to a place where denim on denim is suddenly acceptable (and being touted by the likes of Charlize Theron and Rihanna) and the only way to shake up the stylesphere is to match. Completely. This isn't about wearing red shoes with a red bag and—eek!—a red manicure. No, we're talking bold prints, or more specifically promise-to-get-photographed-by-every-street-style-photographer-at-Fashion-Week-head-to-toe-prints.

Here's some runway and red carpet inspiration that just may embolden you to buy that floral suit you've been eying.

(Imax Tree)
This is a fun place to start. Who can look at this Alice + Olivia striped suit and not immediately think of Beetlejuice? A high-fashion Beetlejuice with much better hair and eyeliner, thank goodness.

(PacificCoastNews.com)
Leave it to Rihanna to lead the pack on a new trend. The allure of this Stella McCartney ensemble is totally understandable considering the pop star got to leave the house in silky pajamas with no "does this look okay with this?" agony. Sheer genius.

(Imax Tree)
The world will never have enough of Diane von Furstenberg's prints. They capture the essence of an era without looking dated. Her Spring 2012 line was chock-full of these loud patterns placed on blousy pants, tops and dresses.

(PacificCoastNews.com)
It's no secret that the entire drive behind Lady Gaga's eccentric fashion is to get noticed. And she did just that in Salvatore Ferragamo's herringbone. This kind of print enthusiasm may be zany for anyone else, but on this singer it's rather sophisticated.

When Donna Karan commits to a theme, she doesn't do so lightly. Matching pants and a blouse didn't give this DKNY runway look enough moxie, it needed a matching tote, heels and floppy sunhat, too. This is how you make a statement on the beach, no Borat mankini required.

Best and Worst Dressed at Coachella 2012

(Photo by Getty Images, Pacific Coast News)

Year after year, celebrities crowd the VIP section at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, slipping into their quirkiest warm-weather outfits for this music-lover's paradise.

Katy Perry—who once attended Coachella in a several thousand dollar Louis Vuitton dress—decided to let it all hang out in a completely sheer floral frock worn over old-school granny panties and a matching bra. A leather jacket and decidedly unsexy motorcycle boots failed to make this look any more modest.

Katy Perry's BFF Rihanna treated the crowd to a surprise performance during Calvin Harris' set, shimmying about in a pair of dangerous denim shorts (so tight we fear for her circulation), a black "PEACE" sports bra and a Chanel windbreaker. That's just how she rolls.

Lindsay Lohan looked like she was having trouble finding her footing in her insane lace-up platform booties, an odd choice for anyone hoping to remain vertical throughout the day. But the shoes did match Lohan's little lace dress quite nicely.

Katy Perry was a one-woman '90s revival with her bright purple hair and floral mini dress worn over ripped stockings. Somewhere, Courtney Love is seething over the appropriation of her seminal look.

Peep Azealia Banks in the left hand corner, rocking purple hair and some type of fur frock.

Vanessa Hudgens exercises zero restraint when it comes to these events. The former High School Musical star looked like she was in costume for a Dazed and Confused remake for most of the weekend, thanks to her headdresses and myriad '70s accessories.

Fergie's multi-layered Coachella ensemble was... puzzling. The Black Eyed Peas singer slipped a sequined vest with some billowy white train over what appeared to be a shredded black romper, while her husband Josh Duhamel looked considerably less ridiculous more low-key in a shirt and jeans.

Socialite-turned-professional club kid Paris Hilton was not interested in flying under the radar, as evidenced by her neon coral minidress and matching hair extensions. Hilton kept safe from the sun under a floppy black hat and cheesy white sunglasses.

Lauren Conrad pulled a pair of Hunter rain boots on over her floral print jeans to avoid any rain-related wardrobe incidents. The former reality star was considerably more put-together than most of her fellow celebs in a filmy white blouse and a luxe knit sweater.

Fergie tackled festival fashion with the same boho spirit as Vanessa Hudgens, throwing a leather fringe vest on over an expensive-looking cream sundress. Aviator sunglasses, heaps of jewelry and a pair of cropped Western boots finished off the look.

Emma Watson, who was spotted cuddling with new boyfriend Will Adamowicz, kept warm in a vintage-looking fuzzy jacket thrown over an embroidered blouse and black jeans. The beautiful Brit is sporting lengthy hair extensions for the upcoming film Bling Ring.
