Oh Hey, Look Who's Blonde Again—It's Rihanna! + New Balmain Blouse

The length and Skrillex-y shaved side still seem to be in tact, but the hue is certainly much lighter than the caramel color (not to mention ultra-dark roots) she was snapped with last week (see below).

The real hair shocker she gave fans, though, was first spotted by E! News—a platinum blunt-banged bob, which presumably was a wig from one of the two photoshoots (told you, busy) she had yesterday.

One shoot was for River Island and the other for her partnership with MAC, in case you're dying to know. We're sure Instagram photos—possibly another hair surprise?—will follow soon. Any minute now...

In other Rih Rih news...

She was spotted heading to Da Silvano, one of her favorite eateries in NYC. She stopped for a few moments to take pictures with fans and even confirmed the next single from her latest album, Unapologetic. Fans will be happy to know that “Pour It Up” is the third song receiving the video treatment from Unapologetic. Interestingly enough, the song has already sold over 1 million units in the US, so I’m sure the song receiving the official video treatment will only aid in its success.

Do You Like Kim's T-Boz Bangs?

Kim Kardashian (FameFlynet Pictures)
Kim Kardashian added another dimension to her blunt bangs with some long wispy side strands. Is it just us, or do these scream '90s hip hop star? Specifically, a certain TLC member who sung about chasing waterfalls, hm?

The expecting reality star pulled her hair up into a taught bun that accentuated her face fringe. She wore all black with a high-waist skirt and a snug long-sleeve top. A solid clutch, strappy gold-accented stilettos, and a chunky metallic necklace finished off her furniture shopping look. Her coral nails were the only hint of color for this OTT errands ensemble.

And The Most Dangerous Primping Procedure Is...

You know that ol' saying "beauty is pain"? Well, it didn't come around for nothing. Anyone who spends at least five minutes getting ready in the morning — and if even my begrudging middle-school brother does this, I know everyone else does — knows this.

We wax — the most, uh, delicate of parts — shave, pluck, wrap our appendages (okay, hair) around sizzling 400-degree could-be torture devices (okay, curling irons), yeah, we sacrifice a lot in the name of beauty. But have you ever wondered how much?

Well, the folks over at MyVoucherCodes, a UK-based discount code and coupon site, did, so they polled 2,000 women to find out what the most common primping injuries are. The #1 biggest beauty blunder was (drumroll, please...) shaving and waxing! 48 percent of women reported suffering some sort of shaving/waxing-related boo-boo. Are you at all surprised?

Other apparently dangerous procedures included:

Sunburn from tanning (37 percent)
Got burnt while using hot tool (33 percent)
Had an allergic reaction to a beauty product (26 percent)
Eyelash curler "accident" — eek! (14 percent)
A bad reaction to hair dye (11 percent)
Tattoo/piercing malfunction (3 percent)
Teeth whitening (1 percent)

Teeth whitening, dangerous? Who knew! Also, a whopping 28 percent of women said they've never — not once ever! — suffered any sort of injury while primping. Um, secrets, please?

Nicki Minaj Fired Her Makeup Team, Hairstylist, AND Stylist—Like Her New Look?

Say goodbye to Nicki Minaj's Franken-wigs, Barbie-on-acid lips, and cat suits — no really, cat suits. Remember this? — because the rapper just up and fired her entire "glam squad."

According to a report in The Sun, now that Minaj is all wrapped up with American Idol, she's planning her triumphant return to the rap world — sans her infamous antics.

“Nicki is desperate to be taken seriously as an artist," a source told the tabloid. “She’s fired her long-standing hairdresser who has been responsible for some of her crazy hairstyles over the years. She’s also fired her stylist."

Minaj seems pretty serious about being "taken seriously," though. At least, that's what we're gathering from her latest look. She almost seems — with the exception of some intense falsies — dare we say it, normal. Well, for her at least!

Tell us, are you sad to see her out-of-this-world style go? Or has this make-under been long overdue? Sound off with your thoughts in our poll, below!

Rihanna's Cool Twist Look

Need a breather from braids? Or want a look that's just as cool, but takes about, oh, half the styling time? Answer: Yes. Yes, you do.

Well, ladies and gents, feast your eyes on Rihanna's twist on the ever-stylish side-braid — it's a side-twist!

Instead of sectioning off her hair three ways, the singer went old-school — perhaps inspired by her DKNY sweatsuit circa 1991? — with the side-braid's younger sis, an easier-to-DIY two-piece twist. It's kiiiind of like the look we used to rock back on the playground (nostalgia points!) but the sharp side part and twisted bangs make it more office than classroom, don't you think?

A tale of caution, if you learned anything from the jungle gym, you'll know that twists don't hold all that well. (Especially after lots of boy-chasing, er, errand running.) So if you're planning to steal RiRi's grown-up version, give your locks extra grip with a texture booster beforehand. We're huge fans of Oribe's brand-new Dry Texturizing Spray ($39 at Oribe.com). It smells ah-mazing!

The Sloppy Bun Evolves!!

(Getty images, Bauer Griffin, PacificCoastNews.com)
For two completely different TV personalities, Kim Kardashian and Kelly Osbourne sure have similar taste in kooky hairstyles. Both Kardashian and Osbourne have been spotted around town wearing the same twisted topknot multiple times in the past week. Funny enough, they've also been wearing similar floral printed motorcycle jackets too. Hm. Are they secret soulmates?

(Getty images and Bauer Griffin)
Kelly Osbourne, known for her light purple-ish gray locks, usually experiments with looser hairstyles and updos—but this month, she wore a sky-high, super tight, bun to both the Chris Benz' presentation at New York Fashion Week last week and around London Fashion Week two days ago.

(Getty images and PacificCoastNews.com)
Over on E!, Kim Kardashian always pulls her hair back in the sleekest and tightest updos. Usually, her buns are bigger and flatter. But just like Osbourne, Kardashian's topknot appeared tall and twisted as she flew to Australia.

How to Style Your Hair This 4th of July

This 4th of July, make sure your hair is barbecue-ready with these hot summer hairstyles.

With our favorite summer holiday just around the corner, we can't help but plan our best fireworks ensemble. As you're digging through your closet searching for the perfect red, white and blue outfit, make sure to keep your hair in mind so you can put together a complete festive look from head to toe. Read on for hair tips from the owners of New York City's MINTtheSALON to learn how you can create the perfect 4th of July-worthy mane.

The summer bun
There's nothing simpler and cleaner than putting your hair in a classic bun for the summer. Try a relaxed chignon with a cute plaid button down, cut-offs and a strappy sandal for that effortless, casual look.

Loose bun (best for dry hair):
Put hair in a high ponytail. Tease the ponytail. Gather hair and start wrapping around elastic and then pin in place.

Tight bun (best for wet hair):
Put wet hair in a ponytail at occipital bone (mid-head) or at nape (low part of neck). Wrap wet hair around elastic. Pin into place.

The summer hair accessory
Looking to accessorize your 'do? Try tying your hair back with a chic scarf for the classic, Sophia Loren look.

For longer hair:
Tie scarf in the back of your head, and let your hair fall naturally.
Take scarf and fold it in a triangle and put scarf on head.
Take the two ends of the scarf and tuck the third in the back.
Tie the two ends of the scarf together.

Let your hair fall naturally for that natural hair look.

For shorter hair:
Fold the scarf so it becomes a long rectangle.
Take the two ends and tie in the front for that classic, '50s look. (We love this look with a fun romper, like this one from A.P.C.

Is the Ombrรฉ Hair Trend Over?

For the last year, it seemed like every starlet in Hollywood was rocking ombrรฉ hair—that half brown, half blonde look. While the style is sexy in an edgy way, it also feels kind of lazy (like, "do you just really need to touch up your roots?"). So we weren't surprised when celebs started abandoning their two-toned locks for more classic colors. But is the ombrรฉ trend really over?

Our hunch: This summer we'll all be seeing red.

But for those of you still looking to do the Ombrรฉ trend.. here's a YouTube tutorial on how!!

Why Viola Davis Ditched the Wig at the Oscars

Whether she knows it or not (she does), Viola Davis made Sunday night at the Oscars a teachable moment, giving the world a crash course in the ever-complicated politics of African-American hair.

Davis, a Best Actress nominee for The Help, arrived at the awards ceremony in a stunning emerald-colored gown and a natural, curly Afro, instantly lifting the lid from the bubbling pot of anger, judgment, and debate often directed toward African-American women and the varying states of their textured tresses.

Through most of the awards season, Davis had donned a dizzying array of wigs and hairpieces to complement her tasteful choice of vibrant-hued cocktail dresses and elegant evening gowns. Many were attractive enough, but some of the follicle support had appeared stiff, ill-fitted, and aging to her lean frame and glowing ebony skin.

“She looked younger and more vibrant on Oscar night,” says Karen Mitchell, owner of New York’s popular True Indian Hair. “Her wigs weren’t that great, and it was clear she needed a custom-fitted wig and style that worked better for her face.”

The actress’s long, public journey with her hair is certainly a familiar story in the African-American community. In fact, it’s so familiar that in the days leading up to the Oscars, black Hollywood found itself actively debating whether Davis would in fact “de-wig” and go natural for Hollywood’s biggest night.

Like many women and most African-American women, Davis learned long ago that hair can be either a tremendous source of pride and confidence or an all-too-frustrating beauty burden that chips away at one’s self-esteem over time.

In a mainstream environment and entertainment industry that has well-defined rules of what beauty is and how it should look, long, silky, and flowing locks rate at the top of the list of nonnegotiable requirements. As a rule—and in sharp contrast—African-Americans have a more coarse and curly hair texture.

And while the tone of one’s skin, the shape of one’s nose, or the fullness of one’s lips aren’t so easily altered without invasive medical procedures, additional hair of any type can be purchased online or at a high-end beauty-supply store in a flash. The relative ease of buying such enhancements and the instant transformation they can bring has made the sale of wigs and human hair extensions a nearly $900 million global business.

Rihanna Debuts New Blond Locks & Seen Partying w/ Chris Brown!!

It was only a matter of time before Rihanna got bored with her rich brown curls and made a dramatic change. However, we were still a little surprised when she revealed her new flaxen tresses via Twitter, posting a topless picture of herself along with the tweet, "1st Cover of the year!!!!"

The new look, prompted by an Elle photo shoot, incorporates long choppy layers and lengthy razored bangs with a smoother straighter texture. The color appears as an eye-opening pop of all-over gold with champagne highlights. Since she didn't just opt for a blond wig, we assume this look is here to stay (at least for the time being).

Rihanna's transformation must have cost a pretty penny, but it seems the woman doesn't blink at dropping unfathomable sums on stylists. The Daily Mail estimated she spends upward of $14,000 a week on the maintenance of her colorful coif. Money aside, Ri-Ri's ever-evolving looks are part of why we love her. We can always count on her to take a risk and inspire us with her fashionable fearlessness.

She may have a penchant for trashy, but she can't fool us.

Despite stepping out in a transparent bodice, peroxide locks and lashings of red lipstick, Rihanna's leather cap probably equated to a yearly salary for some - with the Chanel logo a slight giveaway.

The Russian Roulette singer, 23, was seen leaving the Greystone Manor nightclub in West Hollywood, after partying at the same venue as her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
