Pharrell is Joining Rihanna's New Style Network Reality Show, 'Styled to Rock'

Following the announcement late last year that Styled to Rock, Rihanna's debut fashion reality show in the UK, had been canned due to low ratings—and the follow-up announcement that th rights to the show had be acquired Stateside by the Style Network—here's another exciting development: Pharrell will be joining the US version of Styled to Rock, and the American edition of the show is set to premiere later this year.

Styled to Rock, USA edition, will follow 12 up-and-coming fashion designers the opportunity to create pieces for celebrities. The designers will face a series of challenges over the course of the 10-week series. Each contestant will have a celebrity mentor, and designers will be eliminated each week, depending on their performance.

At the very least, getting on the show sounds like a really good opportunity to spend some quality time with some of the music industry's biggest stars.

"Pharrell's unique aesthetic and commitment to individuality combined with Rihanna's vision for this series will enable our aspiring designers to hone their craft and learn from the very people who set the trends," said Style Media President Salaan Coleman Smith.

This isn't Pharrell's first foray into fashion—not by a long shot. The multi-Grammy-winning producer and artist has his own clothing lines—Billionaire Boys Club, Billionaire Girls Club, Bee Line, IceCream—and he's designed jewelry and accessories for heavy-hitters such as Louis Vuitton. He's collaborated with Moncler, worked with Takashi Murakami, and established the creative venture i am OTHER.

Rafael Cox Presents: The Redemption Fashion Show [Photos+Video]

Many of you know budding designer, and fashion power house Rafael Cox as the audacious contestant on Season 9 of the Lifetime Network's hit series, “Project Runway”! Well now Rafael is ruffling more feathers, and making more fashion forward moves towards becoming a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry.

As an avid leader of the up & coming Atlanta fashion community, Rafael unveiled his Spring 2013 collection to a diverse audience of fashion curators, consumers, and celebrity guest on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Defoor Center in Atlanta's hip and swanky fashion and arts district.  The show was hosted by local Atlanta, Hot 107.9 DJ Traci Steele, pictured in the promo picture above.

The collection revealed brightly hued cocktail dresses, and gowns that fuzed together some of the hottest trends in fashion for spring, i.e. the peplum, cut-outs and the sports stripe. Hot pink, neon green, canary yellow, and turquoise dominated the color palette on the runway. Which by the way, was innovative in it's own right.

Celebrity Attendees included Erica Dixon & Shay Buckey of VH1's "Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta", Bambi of VH1's "Basketball Wives LA", Sharlinda & Kahdijiha Rowe of Style Networks, "Big Rich Atlanta" and recording artist Vina Mills.

Celebrities helped kick off the start of New York Fashion Week by taking a trip down the catwalk at The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection Fashion Show on Feb. 6, 2013.
