Rare Footage of Jeanne Lanvin Supervising Fittings at her Atelier

Check out this amazing video featuring recently-unearthed footage of Jeanne Lanvin, mother of the House of Lanvin, supervising fittings at her legendary atelier at 22 Faubourg Saint Honore in Paris:

Jeanne Lanvin lived from 1867 to 1946. Images and film footage of her is very rare—here, she is shown in fittings with models right before she launched her "Sorbier" or "Azalee" eveningwear. By her side is her assistant, Mademoiselle Renee.

Hottest Looks from Milan & Paris Fashion Week S/S Collections!

Ann Demeulemeester
Wow! According to Ann Demeulemeester, it's going to be a grim Spring! Yikes! She's present a line full of black and and funeral tones; perfect for Wednesday Adams! I must say, I do like the execution of the clothing even though this is more of a Fall 2013 look.

Balenciaga
Balenciaga, in true Balenciaga fashion, showed prints and texture for spring! The almost monotone color palette left me wanting to see some of these pieces in spring hues. However the prints are funky and innovative, and will me hold me over until Balenciaga's Fall showing.

Balmain
A Fashion House that can virtually do NO WRONG in my eyes, Balmain has shown yet another STUNNING collection! The simple stripes, fused with this yellow jacket'esqu color segue and paired with supreme tailoring is what keeps Balmain at the forefront of Fashion!!

Céline
Ok. I see the vision for what Céline was going for, but I feel it was poorly executed! I dont know if I'm lost in this satin jungle or confused and dismayed from the house shoes these models are sliding down the runway in. Either way, I still gag for a Céline bag, but cant get with these fashions.

Givenchy
I think this collection is for the mature woman headed to a gala of some sort. I'll even go so far as to say, I can see Anna Wintour in some of the pieces from Givenchy's 2013 Spring/Summer collection. I'm starting to pick up on this dark spring trend that European designers are predicting!

Lanvin
Lanvin always creates clothing for todays "It Girl". I can see Kim K., Rihanna, Katy Perry and a few others from everyone's "Fave Girl" list, dawning these pieces for 2013. The hues and construction of each piece saves Lanvin from failing every season!

Maison Martin Margiela
Yet another "Dark Spring" designer, Maison Martin Margiela has shown why his clothing is for an exclusive clientele. However, aside from the maternity dresses, I actually enjoy some of the pieces from the 2013 showing. Also the shoes were simply elegant!

Martine Sitbon
I don't LOVE this, but I don't completely hate it either. I think its for Young Hollywood's, shock-and-awe celebutant! I think the only thing hindering me from LOVING this showing are some of the textures of the pieces; it looks like plastic. Yikes!

Rick Owens
Rick Owens always fuses fashion, with fantasy and out of those he's boar his collection for Spring/Summer 2013. The predominantly lightly hued showing left me feeling a little, blah. It didn't evoke any emotion from me; just another runway show.

Roland Mouret
Finally, Pops of Color! This total orange suit (pictured left) is exactly what I wanted to see for spring 2013 from a lot of other designers. Hues that make fashion fun, and edgy! Also, Mouret is giving us structured pieces that are still able to give feminine silhouettes! I love!

Watch: Lanvin's Fall Campaign Video Full of Real People (Not Models)

Yesterday, Lanvin released its fall-winter 2012 campaign video which, instead of models, features real people with all sorts of interests from all walks of life.

One woman collects salt and pepper shakers. Another man says that he really likes to eat frozen blueberries. A younger woman talks about an unspecified band she clearly despises, saying they're "Douchy, gross, masculine, like, in a bad way—just, like, ugh."

Our personal favorite? Former Apollo dancer, Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock, who ends the film saying, "Well I said that when I was 18 I wanted to go to Paris so he could turn it around and put the eight in front and the one behind it... Eight one, instead of one eight." You can hear Alber Elbaz say, "Paris is coming to you!" With a big "MWAH!" at the end.

Watch the incredibly quirky documentary-like video for yourself, here:

Love the video, and the collection looks pretty dope as well.

The Best Dressed of the Week - September 23, 2011

Any week that kicks off with the Emmy Awards is bound to be filled with ultra-glam style. Sure enough, it was a white hot week for red carpet fashion! Catch up with your favorite stars and pick the best and worst dressed of the week!

There are no two ways about it: Sofia Vergara looked smokin' hot in her curvaceous coral one-shoulder gown by Vera Wang. Headed into an Emmys afterparty at West Hollywood's Fig and Olive, Sofia stopped to give us a smile and a view of those killer chandelier earrings!

Va-va-voom! Candice Swanepoel was a knock-out at the Moet & Chandon Etoile awards in a long-sleeve lace gown by Tom Ford. While the layered black lace made the look ultra-elegant, there was no shortness of sex appeal. Sheer cut-outs and an intricate bustier were perfectly sultry for the occasion.

Leave it to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to bring on the Old Hollywood Glamour! For the Moet & Chandon Etoile award ceremony in London the stunning actress donned an elegant white gown with sheer sleeves and a deep-v. An enviable red pout and retro waves perfected Rosie's vintage look.

No one travels in style quite like Kim Kardashian. We spotted Kim K. leaving a Manhattan hotel in an ultra-chic ensemble. She donned black high-waisted pants, a printed silk blouse and a classic white Birkin.

An expectant Beyonce wowed at the launch of her new fragrance in a feathered Lanvin gown. The silk halter gown skimmed her curves, while a jeweled neckline added the perfect dose of shine. Long two-tone waves and radiant skin finished off the winning look.

Liv Tyler opted for a dramatic look at the New York City Ballet Gala in a stunning strapless Stella McCartney gown. With intricate black embroidery and sheer panels, the dress was an exotic choice for the leggy actress. Old Hollywood curls and green drop earrings were glam accents to Liv's stunning style.

Lanvin Ad Campaign x Dancing Models?

The Lanvin Fall/Winter 2011 ad campaign features Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann alongside two male models dancing to Pitbull's hit song "I Know You Want Me". Also at the end Alber Elbaz joins in on the fun!!

I've never seen super models dance, and from the looks of it they've never seen their moves either. However, the clothes and styling are impeccable and make-up for any un-intentional rhythmic mishaps.

Look of the Day: Beyonce Knowles in Lanvin

Beyonce Knowles certainly had that pregnancy glow at the MTV VMAs! The newly announced mother-to-be donned a one-shoulder citrus orange kaftan by Lanvin.

The vibrant draped number was both elegant and avant-garde—perfect for the VMAs. Beyonce added sparkle to her look with a pair of Lorraine Schwartz shoulder-dusters and a large emerald ring.

A side-swept ponytail accentuated her light to dark ombre waves. Later, Beyonce performed on-stage during the award show wearing a sequined blazer from Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2011 collection. We're eager to see Beyonce's maternity style flourish!

It’s a trend nowadays for great designers to extend their designs to the younger market, particularly the kids. Stylish Kids are all over the world and Alber Elbaz took that inspiration for the launch of his Children’s Line yesterday. This is something to look forward to, now the moms have more shopping to do!

Beyonce Knowles In Lanvin at 2011 Billboard Music Awards

The singer arrived on the red carpet at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas last night wearing a Lanvin Fall 2011 look.

I don’t hate the dress, but I’m far from being excited about it.

Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
