The 411 on Jane Lynch's Glam Emmys Wardrobe

Jane Lynch took to the Emmys stage for her gig as hostess for the night in a variety of glamorous gowns, all by David Meister. She started the evening on the red carpet in a custom-made strapless aubergine chiffon gown with an empire waist and ruched bodice. Jane then opened the show with a spirited opening number in a metallic gunmetal gray frock with a keyhole neckline. Midway through the show, Jane opted for a rose jacquard halter gown, complete with crystal embellished pockets. Jane finished off the evening in a ravishing metallic sage jacquard gown.

Jane told People magazine that she had worked with designer David Meister to create "nontraditional gowns" for the event. Both Meister and Jane agreed that they wanted to take some fashion risks for the high-profile event. "No pantsuit," Meister said. “I wanted to keep it simple, yet glamorous and sexy, because everyone expects a pantsuit.”

Hot Shot: Why Kanye West Didn't Show at NYFW

Where is Kanye West this Fashion Week? The rapper and fashion designer is usually a fixture in the front row, but has gone MIA this season. Though several major designers have yet to show — including West’s buddy, Marc Jacobs — sources expect West to forego New York’s extravaganza completely in preparation for the launch of his womenswear collection next month during the Paris shows. We hear West has tapped Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, who designed the artwork for West and Jay-Z’s new album, “Watch the Throne,” as a mentor.

Mix & Match :: Mixing Pattern & Prints for Fall 2011

Whenever I see mix and match prints I want someone to hire Uli from Project Runway. No one could put prints together like her. When most design houses do it, it seems like their models got dressed in the dark.

Street Style From New York Fashion Week

Yesterday, hemlines were divided around the tents and beyond at New York Fashion Week. Short-shorts earned a spot in the limelight, both in sleek black leather and crisp white cotton, as did a lot of maxi skirts — a billowy, pleated number looking just right in the sunshine. There were also a few pairs of pants thrown in for good measure, and our first fall Isabel Marant sighting in the form of Megan Gray's Navajo-inspired sweater.

New Plans for The Gap, New Designer Soon?

The Gap let head designer Patrick Robinson go in early May, and promises that they will name his replacement soon. Executives, who readily acknowledged the chain's "long run of negative comps" at its presentation in New York yesterday, say they have other plans to make people go into the store and buy lots of things. At a "test store" in L.A., they are trying new strategies like providing better service and finding new ways to display product. Sound hazy? Let Pam Wallack, executive vice-president of the Gap Global Creative Center in New York, explain:

Wallack said the collection should have “a level of emotion and story-telling” or in other words, cohesiveness.
In other Gap news:

The retailer showed colorful khakis, totes, and high-heeled clogs at their spring 2012 presentation at Lincoln Center today.

10 We Liked from New York Fashion Week!!

From left: Spring looks from Reed Krakoff, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Proenza Schouler.

1. The Michael Kors show always puts me in a good mood — this time around, I loved the desert green and that he made a case for mothballs.
2. The khaki pants, black vest, and flat sandals at Phillip Lim. Perfect urban dressing.
3. That Reed Krakoff showed a really great white suit again.
4. The A-line, striped skirt made of EEL (!) at Proenza Schouler.
5. That Lincoln Center is so efficiently run.

From left: spring 2012 looks from Bill Blass, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs

1. The mothball trend continued on the cardigans at Ralph.
2. Imagining the last dress at L’Wren Scott off the runway.
3. The nude slip-dresses at Calvin Klein.
4. The long red shirtdress at Bill Blass.
5. Pretty much everything about Marc Jacobs.

Kourtney Kardashian's 5 Fall Fashion Fave's

Kourtney Kardashian is quite the style maven. Take a look at her fashion dossier, and you'll notice that the oldest Kardashian gal is not afraid to take risks both on and off the red carpet. Rather than playing it safe, Kourtney often opts for bright colors and vibrant prints. So when given the chance to pick Kourtney's brain, we couldn't help but ask the fashionista on her fall must-haves. From colored denim to all things sparkly, check out Kourtney's fall fashion wishlist!

1. Colored denim
I'm excited to wear my bright colored jeans.

2. Thigh high boots
I'm all about suede thigh highs for fall. The ones in our collection are comfortable—faux suede and as chic as it gets...what more could a girl ask for?!

3. Any and everything leopard
I am always into leopard again when fall comes around. It's such a classic print that never goes out of style.

4. Trousers
I love wearing trousers for fall when I just can't bear putting on another dress. Thank goodness they are so in this fall.

5. Sparkle
When the holidays come around, I think everyone could use a little sparkle in their lives.

Nicki Minaj Accused of Stealing Budding Designer's Idea

Nicki Minaj caused quite a stir at New York Fashion Week when she donned a cropped top with multi-colored puff ball adornments paired with a bright orange pleated skirt and topped off with lime green mesh tights, hot pink socks and red and black print wedges. To say that Nicki isn't afraid of color would be an understatement.

Just when we thought we had seen the last of Nicki's eclectic ensemble, her colorful outfit is once again making headline news. Jessica Rogers, a young designer from Tulsa, Oklahoma, claims that Nicki copied her original designs. It turns out that Nicki's stylists had previously contacted Rogers, of SomedayNewYorker, about the possibility of using some of her designs. Rogers then sent Nicki's style team images of her work but never heard back, even after several follow-up attempts.

When Rogers saw the images of Nicki at the Herrera show, she was devastated. Rogers said, "I’ve worked very hard to make my dream of being a fashion designer come true...I feel like everything has crumbled down.” To make matters worse, Rogers is a huge fan of Anna Wintour and is particularly upset that Anna did not get the opportunity to see a Rogers-creation in person. "I admire Anna Wintour very much," she says. "I was hoping that one day she would see my garments and it would be the first time that she would see Puff Balls used as I use them.” (Rogers design below)

Rogers has since reached out to Nicki's stylist but the gesture was not well received. When the designer sent Nicki an original SomedayNewYorker garment, Rogers claimed that she was subsequently harassed by a woman from Nicki's team. Rogers made a firm statement, saying, "Many independent as well large scale designers go through this. Copying another designers work is wrong. It should not be stood for.”
