Something's been catching our eye in recent weeks. Normally, celebs sport manicures in a rainbow of colors. But lately, something been a bit off. Not a lot off, but one nail off.

We've seen Vanessa Hudgens, Rumer Willis and Kelly Rowland with eight fingers painted one shade, then one nail on each hand painted a contrasting color. Even celebrity blogger, NecoleBitchie has caught on to the trend, and has a special place on hers site for "Manicure Uploads".

If you look like you’re ready for a 40-year flood or a circus, you’ve likely gone too far.

Avoid Clashing Black With Navy Or Brown
Old-timers will tell you that navy suits should never be paired with black belts and shoes. There’s an even harder style stance when it comes to wearing black and brown. But as the saying goes, black really does go with almost anything. Here’s how to break the fashion rules for navy or brown with black. Make sure your brown bluchers are polished to perfection to match the inherent sleekness of their darker background. Another tip here is to use different skins and fabrics. For example, a pair of black leather driving gloves will work well with a brown wool overcoat.

Always Match Your Shoes And Belt
This fashion rule probably came from a long line of color-blind gents who couldn’t discern the difference between black and brown. But if you’re blessed with the color-recognition capability of a kindergartner, focus your efforts on color coordination rather than cloning. Brown shoes, for example, should certainly partner with a belt of a similar tone (one that’s too light or of the cordovan camp would be needlessly distracting). By the same token, if you’re daring enough to sport drivers in, say, a rich, red suede, let the shoes do their job and let a more neutral belt take the backseat.

Keri Hilson added a punch of color to the Billboard Music Awards red carpet in a chartreuse mini with long sheer sleeves and a turquoise belt to cinch her waist. In case it wasn't clear already, the 70's are back, ladies and gentlemen!

Always one to make a statement on the red carpet, Nicki Minaj did not disappoint at the Billboard Music Awards in a baby blue Mark Fast bodysuit with sparkling paillettes down her legs. A cotton candy 'do and white platform sandals completed this eye-catching look. Very Nicki!

Michelle Williams sparkled on the red carpet in a sequined LBD with a soft fringed skirt. She wore lethal black platform stiletto booties and added a tiny burst of color with a red embroidered clutch.

Rihanna opted for a minimalist look at the Billboard Music Awards in a white hot Max Azria suit. Her loosely curled red bob gave color to the look, while pointy nude Christian Louboutin stilettos maintained her streamlined silhouette.

The music industry's resident party girl Ke$ha hit the white carpet in a blue satin mini dress with bold shoulders and daring cut-outs. The Tik Tok singer's futuristic glittery dress featured an inexplicable tulle train. Glittery cheek and eye makeup rounded out Ke$ha's look.

Yet Swedish glamor model Victoria Silvstedt found herself in exactly that position on Wednesday evening, when she arrived at a Roberto Cavalli Yacht party in the exact same dress as Bar Refaeli.

Bar wore the dress with nude pointy-toed pumps, while Victoria paired her look with gold peep-toe pumps and oversized diamond hoop earrings. While these two ladies share similar hair colors and silhouettes, they still managed to look different in their respective mini dresses.
